Staff Accountant

Our Finance team is growing, and we are looking to add a Staff Accountant.  This role reports into the Director of Finance and is responsible for managing the day-to-day A/P and Expense functions. You will also work closely with the team on all aspects of the month-end close process, reporting, and audits.  Additionally, this role will support the Finance team with reoccurring operational and ad hoc assignments.  

What you will do:

  • Perform full-cycle accounts payable functions including, but not limited to: setting up new vendors, collecting W-9s, processing invoices, ensuring accurate coding of invoices, vendor follow-up, processing 1099s
  • Management of expense reimbursement process and systems
  • Prepare monthly accounting entries for various business transactions and reconciliations for balance sheet components, including cash, prepaid assets, leases, accrued expenses, allocations, and more.
    • Prepare month-end accruals and reconciliations for various accounts
    • Prepare spend analyses across various accounts
  • Review balance sheet and income statement variances and prepare detailed analyses explaining monthly and quarterly fluctuations.
  • Participate in process improvements to streamline the monthly financial close process.
    • Resolve day-to-day and complex accounting issues
  • Assist with the annual financial audit process
  • Assist with various ad-hoc projects as needed

What you bring:

  • BA/BS Degree in Accounting or Finance
    • 3-5 years in accounting or equivalent (Big 4 and/or CPA is a plus)
    • Proactive team player, with a positive attitude, and who owns accountability
    • Demonstrable advanced excel capabilities
  • Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to remain productive in fast paced environment with shifting priorities
  • A big plus if you have experience in Bill.com, Expensify
