The position:

Riviera Partners distilled twenty years of collective experience, the knowledge and relationships of a hundred recruiters, deep data, evaluations and historical information into our proprietary recruiting platform. Machine learning signals, qualitative data, trends and predictive success factors help take the risk out of hiring. The challenging recruiting workflow features and interactions require the QA Engineer to build custom tooling in-order to test effectively. We have built a product that our recruiters and clients rely on to accomplish their day job - we must deliver high quality software. You will work cross functionally and set the testing strategy for all platforms and deliver on that strategy. This includes:

Testing Strategy:

  • act as a strong advocate for quality in the product development process for software engineering
  • work with product management team, engineers/data scientists, and project manager to identify and understand the bottlenecks in the existing release process
  • work with support to understand the main pain points of users and determine when problems arise with new releases 
  • determine how we should split resources between exploratory, automation, and integration testing
  • define goals for QA function

Testing Efforts:

  • improve the overall QA process, by identifying gaps or inefficiencies in workflows and suggesting improvements
  • set standards and educate the team on good test plan design
  • train the team to participate in design reviews to ensure testability of new features, integrate the test team and testing plans early during feature development timeline


  • work with the architect to deliver an automation pipeline for all engineering teams
  • provide accurate QA status and progress during all project testing phases
  • create automated dashboards to track product quality and regressions
  • reduce our release test burden to <3 days

This is a very hands-on position - you will be expected to deliver results.  You are very experienced, vocal, and opinionated - you will be Riviera Partners’ biggest quality advocate and will help implement best practices across the engineering team. You report to the VP of Engineering and Data Science.  

You bring:

  • 7+ years of hands-on testing, in a manual or automated capacity
  • experience testing in an agile environment
  • experience testing web platforms
  • be a strong voice for QA needs
