Director - Partnerships and Business Development

What you will do:

The Director, Partnerships & BD at Riviera Partners will be deployed in support of Channel Partnerships (primarily PE and VC firms) in the Americas. They will also conduct BD activities related to partner referrals, utilizing best-in-class sales processes and methods to originate and help secure new qualified search mandates. Riviera’s growing Partnerships organization strengthens and streamlines existing relationships with investors by aligning the best of Riviera – personnel, technology, talent and insights – against human capital needs throughout their portfolio and firm operations. Doing so creates more valuable Partnerships for all parties – investors, companies, candidates, Riviera – and advances our mission of helping to build the companies of tomorrow.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Develop, nurture and retain relationships to generate leads/sales opportunities through PE and VC channels
  • Cultivate networks for sourcing new clients; identify and build high levels of engagement and trust with new client relationships
  • Work creatively and collaboratively with internal colleagues — exec search, sales operations, marketing, finance, technology – to create value for our partners, customers, candidates and teammates
  • Build account plans, including growth objectives, and quarterback client service teams to achieve those objectives
  • Articulate the Riviera value proposition and services to the decision-makers across PE and VC firms
  • Work in line with the operational procedures of the organization towards our revenue generation and sales growth goals

What you bring:

  • 3 - 5 years of demonstrated success in one or more of these fields:
  • Account Management with Financial services clients
  • Diligence and consulting solutions to institutional investors
  • Consultant at a top-tier strategy consultancy
  • Investment professional or consultant working in a performance-driven environment
  • Enterprise-level Application Service Provider (ASP or SaaS) or senior software sale
  • Proven experience managing performance to quota
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders across different functions for solving complex challenges, learning and growing
  • Clear understanding of and hands on experience with creating and delivering “best in class” client service strategies and operating models
  • Impeccable attention to detail, ideally in a high-volume and fast paced environment
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
